Dry Eye Product

There are a variety of dry eye products which are suggested by physicians and manufacturers for the treatment and relief of dry eyes syndrome. Dry eyes remedy products can vary from topical solutions, eye ointments, eye gels, therapeutic compresses and more. There are numerous manufacturers who produce products to help relieve dryness and restore moisture back to the tear film layers of the cornea.

Artificial tears dry eye product choices are abundant and often used by themselves for minor dry eye conditions. They may be used in combination with other treatments for severe dry eyes. These eye drops can be manufactured in bottles with multiple doses or in single use tubes or droppers. Some eye drops may be preservative free, while others are not. You may ask for some suggestions from your doctor.

Lubricating eye gels are mostly manufactured and distributed in tubes. It is important to be patient when first learning to place the gel in the eyes, as it may be a little challenging until you get used to it. The gel can place moister in a filmy layer back into the eyes. Eye ointment is a less common product used, but can be effective for severe conditions of dry eyes.

Ointment dry eye products are used for night treatment mostly. These can help refresh the eyes while sleeping. They can provide a mucous type lubrication onto the extra dry cornea. They may also contribute to complete closure of the eyelids. You may find ointments in both over the counter and prescription brands.
