Eye Treatment

There are several different eye treatment variations on the medical eye health pharmaceutical market. Treatments may be applied to the eyes for a variety of reasons. Tired eyes may need to simply be aided by a cool pack, for example, to relieve dark circles and puffiness. Internal treatments such as artificial tears, gels and eye ointments are in a large group of products.

The type of eye treatment used may be determined by the symptoms and causes of the eye irritations or problems. Minor dryness or redness in the eyes may be caused by allergies, pollutants or smoke. They may also be a result of eye strain and fatigue. These problems are easily treatable with rest and artificial tears or other topical solutions you can purchase at the drug store.

Severe eye conditions may need to be treated with a combination of choices. Viral and bacterial infections may need to be treated with antibiotic drops. Eye diseases which can hinder the vision quality of your eyes may only be treatable with surgery. Eye washes may also be used in combination with both of the above examples.

Therapeutic eye treatments such as compresses are often used to help relax the eyes and relieve stress and tension. Some of the eye mask products may promote the restoration of moisture to the eyes as well. You can find a variety of these products from different manufacturers. Some of them may be used for a short time, and others may be worn all night while you are sleeping.
